The Story

Against a Fall background, a guardian angel with wide wingspread descends the stone stairs to enter our own more worldly realm.

I heard an old story about this family plot marker statue. It was originally sculpted in granite similar to the stairs, but vandals would break pieces off to haul away, such as the delicate fingers, hands, and even the wings. At some point, this wealthier family had the original stone sculpture copied into bronze, as seen here.
