The Story

During a stop on the Highway to Hell and bound for The Other Side for the big Halloween party, this traveling skeleton waves hello to passersby while standing beside his 1934 Chevy. Naturally, the shade of this spreading tree is a good place to take a break on your sightseeing trip. This pull-off is a great place to enjoy the scenery and fresh air along roadside America while resting your bones.

Traveling light yet still in fairly high style, this friendly skeleton packs only his fedora hat and sunglasses along with some cigars. Obviously, with the breezes blowing straight through, he doesn’t have much need for a suitcase full of clothes on this trip.

Even though spooks are rumored to see in the dark, he’d better get that headlight fixed at the next gas station! It should be easy to find a fix-it place with a good mechanic further down Route 666, the well-traveled main drag to The Other Side.

This car appears to be firmly rooted in the landscape forever and always, but that never seems to stop the spooks from getting around anyway. Some folks are mystified by that, but it’s actually quite simple: the ususal rules of The Before just don’t apply to anyone living in The After. Ask any friendly traveling skeleton about that the next time you see one.

Just for kicks, another photograph of this car taken without the waving skeleton can be seen in the picture Branch Office #14212.

Location: the Highway To Hell Hotel parking lot, right along Route 666 in the town of Afterlife, Pennsylvania.
