Great Lakes Morning #14310
I was out early in the morning in good weather at these scenic cliffs along Lake Michigan, and there was a little fog and great light. I tried various locations and different lenses along both sides of this little cove. I had just finished a shot when two kayaks suddenly appeared…no time to change anything from the previous setup, just wait a second for the boats to line up into a good composition and shoot!
Luckily, the image worked out very well for a one-chance-only deal. I don’t often have people in my work unless the image is intended for magazine use, but I enjoyed having the kayakers in this one, especially as an unintended surprise.
Location: the Great Lakes at Cave Point Park on the Lake Michigan shoreline near Jacksonport, Door County, Wisconsin.
