Lake Michigan Silence #10268
This is the high-view overlook of Lake Michigan from 450 feet high at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and quite a viewpoint it is. It can seem simply stunning how much sand there is in Michigan. Standing here looking left and right, you see nothing but these giant sand dunes into the horizon both ways on the coast, and it is remarkable as well as beautiful.
At this height, you can see the slight curvature of the earth on the horizon about 25 miles out. You can also see the depth of the water change from green at the shallow shore change into deeper blue going out into the lake.
Location: in the Great Lakes at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Lake Michigan, Michigan.
