The Story

These wonderfully weathered colors surrounding the pocked chrome Chevrolet emblem are on a 1950’s vintage pickup in a Minnesota junkyard. It is only the trifecta of time, exposure and a few different paint jobs that can give this result. It is a very long process brought to you mostly by Mother Nature, the world’s foremost and oldest artist.

In this image, I also enjoy the curving lines of the body panels typical of vehicles from that era that help guide the composition, which was a fun yet deliberate one to set up and make even in the baking hot full sun of an August afternoon.

The same Chevy truck is also shown as Outta Control #14498 too.

Location: a rural junkyard in Kandihoyi County, Minnesota.
