The Story

A summer farming valley in Pennsylvania after a late afternoon thundershower that caused fog to rise across the hills and trees. This picture was taken from a ridge road above the farming valley.

It had been a very hot summer day that completely baked the land under a blowtorch, so the thunderstorm that came through thankfully broke the hot spell. Soon after, tendrils of fog began to rise from the land and the wooded ridges beyond, and the farmed acres took on a brighter hue of green as the plants felt some relief from the heat, too.

The distant cows in the lower center of the scene got a refreshing break from the downpour. They had stayed out in the field during the rain, while this photographer waited it out in the truck.
