The Story

On the way back to Rockhill Yard with another train full of tourists, East Broad Top Railroad steam engine #16 makes black smoke as it crosses the bridge over Blacklog Creek. The warm late afternoon sun lights the creek and the black engine; it’s the last run of the day. The fireman stands silhouetted behind the cab while the engineer peers down the track with his hand on the throttle. Lazy Blacklog Creek is in no hurry at all.
