The Story

Here is a close-up of an old Chevy car trunk lid from the fifties with a then-new Power Glide emblem. This emblem in chrome was a way to show off a new automatic transmission design developed by General Motors back in the day. Today, it still shines years later but it certainly is pock-marked.

I was attracted to the beautiful industrial design of the Power Glide emblem just as much as the faded paint that made a perfect background. The paint weathering looks almost like billowing clouds but in faded blue and off-green.
