Long Fall #14266
$0.00
The Story
At a bend in the deep and narrow Watkins Glen gorge, a small tributary stream falls dramatically like a silver thread into the gorge from the forested plateau above. This is the highest waterfall in the chasm. Level rock layers follow the curves, stacked up high and wet. Glen Creek goes through here slowly over the layers in short, lazy drops.
If you look closely, the stone hiking path goes right under the waterfall, one of two places this happens at Watkins Glen.
Location: Watkins Glen State Park, Watkins Glen, Schuyler County, New York.
