The Story

This small walking bridge in winter snow lies back in the woods along a lightly used footpath in a park. Not many see this place other than fishermen, let alone at this time of year when it’s so very quiet and still.

Winter snow in a sunlit landscape is a wonderful opportunity to gather some great images. Most of the time I’ll photograph in color, but I chose to photograph this scene in black and white infrared to bring out all the strong straight lines that run everywhere through this image.

Location: the countryside near Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
