The Story
The cut-off T-shaped ends of salvaged railroad rails rusting away in a scrap pile of railroad rails in a junkyard.
These old rusty rails of high-quality steel were stacked up and about to be turned into bedframes and signposts as a second life at a recycler. Railroads and their rails were and are the backbone of America. It’s hard to imagine just how much freight and passengers were moved on these rails at one time, isn’t it?
Most people don’t know that every railroad rail has the year and place of manufacture on the side of it. Some of these were surprisingly dated from the 1910s and 20s!
